What is everyone using in the front? QD mount, weight, or pic rail?

I have a Magpul Mlok QD on either side of my forend. Only running the internal weights

Might as well go with their weight set that has the QD built in. If you shoots comps, you likely want a heavier rifle anyway. Maybe that's a poor assumption? Anyway, here's the link. MDT Product

I would have thought one side would be enough. Is the second for off-hand shots?

I have a relatively heavy barrel contour, so it balances right in front of the magwell as is with the bipod mounted. I don't feel like I need the weight, but I also don't think one set would mess it up, either.

I got one for each side so the option is there to run it either way. Mainly used it on the left so far but saw a tripod shooting video from Shadowtech where they ran it on the right hand side.

I like the fact that their weights have QD attachments thats really neat.

I was going to put external weights on originally but was able to get it balanced pretty well with just the internal weights

Thanks guys. The sling showed up so I really need to just pick something and try it. I thought I had a section of pic rail with a mount, but I apparently ordered the no mount version. I'm leaning towards just the mount vs weight.

That's an interesting option. Does it stay put? Or does it slide with a 20 pound rifle?

It stays put. I've ran it only on a 16lb rifle, just tighten it down.
