MDT Elite rings HELP!!!

So i got these in a trade here on the hide, but i am noticing that I don't know which side of the rings to torque first in order to use the RRS scope leveler to make the correct adjustments. I notice one side has dimples and the other side doesn't. So which side do i torque first.

I did ask this in another thread but i feel like it might be better as its own.

Which way is that arrow pointed when setting the rings in the scope base

Forward. I install my rings so the Picatinny clamp nut and the dot on the rings are on the L/H side of the rifle.

Buy ARC rings, one bolt no confusion.

The rings are designed for right handed shooters so the clamp and 1/4" nut are on the left side, away from your bolt cycling hand and give you view of the level on the Medium and higher rings.
When you mount them to the rail, before you tighten them down you will want to push them forward to make sure the recoil lug is seated in the pic rail then torque them down.

Sorry, to revive a 3-year old thread...

I have just acquired a set of MDT Elite rings 1.5" high with the integrated bubble level.

The manual cited above says that the ring with the bubble level should be installed on the front and the ring without the bubble should be installed on the rear of the scope. This is also shown on the pic for step 2 of the manual:

All the pics from the net (that I have found) show that the bubble level is placed on the back ring - towards the shooter and not on the front one. This seems more logical for the purpose of actually using the bubble to level the rifle and the scope respectively in a shooting situation.

So, why does the manual says the opposite?

Would it be easier to spot the bubble level on the front ring set, assuming that the riflescope will obscure the view towards the front ring set?
Has anybody actually installed this ring with the bubble level on the front and not on the rear?

They are underrated for sure. Excellent rings. I have several sets of them and have used them for a long time and never had any issue. Old thread or not, these rings are legit

I've done it both ways and it works both ways. It depends on the scope and the height of the rings a little as well as what your prefer.

I would just gently put the rings on and put your scope in them (tighten at least one screw on each side of each ring, you will forget and pick the gun up and dump your scope out if you don't), and see what you prefer.

I suggest you pick up one of your guns that has a scope mounted. Then look through the scope with presumably your right
eye. Without changing the position of your head or eye, take note of which ring that you will be able to level in.
Without moving my head, I would have no chance in seeing the level in the rear mount.
In any case.....do what works for you.

It actually doesn't matter; the instructions were written by our CEO back in 2012, and English is his second language, but you can run them without issue in either direction. Generally, most people do the rear ring for the most visibility of the bubble level.
