Photos Mech Tech CCU for Glock 19

[Mordamer]

9mm Glock 19 carbine conversion upper. Made by Mech Tech. Already had an extra Glock frame for the upper and plenty of magazines to feed it with.

Mech Tech makes a pretty good product, but it could still use a lot of refining. 16.25" stainless steel barrel. I got some +P+ federal 115 grain hollow points to come out the business end at 1550 fps.

I just put a 3x32 fixed power scope made by nikon on it. I haven't seen too many of these around and thought it was a pretty cool idea so I bought one. I also love 9mm's of just about any type.

I'm curious, did they get an exemption from the ATF to be able to sell those? Cause I remember reading a while ago about some other group who was making one and the biggest issue was the ATF had stated that you could turn a rifle into a pistol, but not a pistol into a rifle or some such nonsense like that.

Barrel over 16" makes ATF a non-issue. Pistols cannot have a stock added to them if the barrel is under 16", unless you apply for a NFA stamp.

There is an official ruling on the ATF website somewhere that states that it is not illegal to convert from a pistol to a rifle and back to a pistol. I'm too lazy to look it up for you. The gun is legal in either configuration.

I do think that people being afraid of the ATF has hurt the business of companies like Mech Tech.

i dont like it eather but i don't know if id take it that far expicaly looking down the bissness end.

For a purely entertainment piece, like a saturday morning rolling pop cans, I think it could be kind of fun to play with.

Not every toy we buy has to be for serious purposes.

I own a number of .22s just because I like to shoot .22s.

I picked up a nice Browning Hi Power the other day. I will never carry one into combat, as every gun I am ever likely to use is always issued to me (not counting a CCW).

If you like the G19 Mech Tech toy and have a good time with it, it's all good.
