I have used the search and not found what I have in mind. A small pack to throw in a back pack used for day hunts in Texas. Hunting pigs and varmints and at night. I saw one suggested here in a thread not long ago, and miss placed the link.

Any suggestions

Thanks

Re: Medical pack- small one

Been doing the medic thing for a few years now and even with the massive collection of old school and high speed medic bags both big and small, I keep the basics in a zip-lock bag and recommend the same thing to the medics I supervise.

How much Motrin can you fit in a Ziplock bag?

j/k Doc...much love for the Combat Medics!

Re: Medical pack- small one

Heck that's all I really carry.... never understood those 100 pound medic bags with surgical table built in. Here's a couple of 800mg horse pills, now drink some water and walk it off!

Cav scouts are alright too, they just get to defensive over those funny looking lone ranger hats and shinny wheel thingy's on their boots....

Actually I do the same thing now.

But not that long ago there was a thread on bug out bags and one of the posters had a small kit maybe 4X6 inches or so that he had purchased from a site linked in the thread. I thought maybe someone would remember it. I should have gotten it then but did not as I was out of country at the time.

Re: Medical pack- small one

There are pre-made kits in a couple of departments at the Wal Mart too if you want to go that route. Sporting Goods has one in a little 4x6. A small bottle of iodine, a tube of triple antibiotic, various size bandages, some tape, some wrap, some gauze, and the smallest package of handi-wipes you can find pretty well does the deed. I found some band-aids the other day with the triple anti-biotic already on them which was kinda cool. A small amount of duct tape will be useful on bigger cuts and for splint improvising. Some swear by super glue for wound closing as well, but it needs to be clean first.

hogrider...don't know if you can get these over your side of the water.....but I'm happy to recommend them:

http://www.lifesystems.co.uk/psec/first_aid_kits/outdoor_first_aid_kits.htm

They have a pretty good selection of sizes/spec's for a wide variety of sports/travel uses.

And they have an online shop

I use the Trek kit - it's around 3 x 4 x 6.

Beat me to it. Big +1 North American makes some great specialized gear.

Re: Medical pack- small one

Amazon pretty much has a kit that will cover anything from scrapes and bruises to stuff you would use in surgery. Just search first aid in sporting goods and you'll have days of windowshopping. Kits with scapels to quickclot.

Re: Medical pack- small one

Steristrips/ Butterflys with tincture of benzoin work well for skin lacerations, as good as sutures, have used in the OR for years. Switched to Mastisol in 1989 because it is much less painful then benzoin, but usually only found in ORs or surgeons offices. The little single use bullets are $3 each in quantity, much more if you only get singles, IMHO.
