Some background on my setup: Mega MA10 monolithic receiver set with DPMS .308 SASS bull barrel, Wilson Combat 2-stage AR trigger, JP enhanced bolt, Young Manufacturing NM chrome carrier, UBR stock with Slash's heavy carbine buffer and spring.

Although the gun has never been fired, I have racked the bolt several times to check functionality. I would pull the charging handle back until the BCG would lock up on the bolt catch like how it's supposed to and then I would load a mag with a .308 snap cap and depress the bolt catch allowing the BCG to fly forward and chamber the dummy round, pull the trigger and repeat. Probably did it no more than 10 times since I've had it all together.

Well the other night I took apart the upper from the lower to inspect the internals and noticed these strange marks on the top of the hammer of the trigger group.

Upon further investigation I noticed this on the bottom of the carrier

It looks like the BCG is slamming into the hammer on the trigger group, I'm very concerned and have a feeling this isn't normal. The hammer isn't supposed to contact the bottom of the carrier like that right? Either the carrier is out of spec or the trigger group is, not sure. What do you guys think? Should I contact Young Manufacturing? The carrier looks destroyed. I am not a happy camper!

Looks like a chunk of metal from your trigger has stuck itself to the bolt carrier. Will have to look at mine to see if the radiuses on either side of the channel that runs the length of the BC looks like yours.

I too use a Young Mfg bolt carrier in my MA TEN, and had initial hammer problems, but Young Mfg cured them for free and returned my carrier overnight shipping at no charge. You can see a pic of my issue here:

My hammer was being impeded by the lack of proper clearance in the carrier, they paid to ship it back to themselves, fixed the issue, and returned it to me overnight at no charge. Call them up and explain the issue, their customer service is second to none.
