Meopta Meostar S2 20-70x82 Spotting Scope

The Meopta S2 arrived yesterday. Here's a quick video, but sorry about it being shaky. The mount I bought for my cell phone is a bit loose and I gotta find a way to fix it. But this should give you a good idea of how this thing looks. I have a Tangent Theta 5-25x56 scope sitting on top of my rifle. That's the best rifle scope I've ever seen and this thing blows it away in terms of image quality. Just unreal. No chromatic aberration (anything you see is from the cell phone). And it has a very 3D aspect to it with your eye. And you can get everything super sharp, even at 70x power. I'm happy with it!

Damn fine spotter right there! If you use it for range work, I'd be curious as to how far you can spot shots on paper targets, and on steel?

Well at the place I shoot, they have people pulling your target in the pit and marking your shots. So at best, I can let you know if I can see the little stickers they use to cover the holes. The steel range is 600 yards. And I can spot impacts with my rifle scope. So it shouldn't be a problem with this spotter. I got this thing so I can spot shots on steel out past 1,000. Might be a while until I'm able to get back out and shoot at like... 1200 or something like that. But I'll definitely post back with how it goes.

Great, I definitely look forward to it. So far the farthest I've been able to spot shots on paper targets (without the fluorescent stickers) has been about 400-500ish yds. Steel impacts definitely farther, especially on a freshly painted target. The spotter I was using was a Zen Ray ED2 , and I'm looking to upgrade to a better spotter... and that Meopta is right at the top of my list with the 30-60 WA eyepiece.

As always, depends one the conditions. Really good day on paper I can make out holes out to 500 yards. Steel splashes to 1200 yards. Love my S2!

I can spot shots on paper at 600 with my rifle scope. So I hope this spotter does better...

Have no worries.......that spotter will perform extremely well. You will be very pleased with your purchase.....really appreciate and enjoy mine, I have the 20-70x

I haven't but it always makes me happy when I look through it. I'd truthfully be happy to go 25-50x if they gave it as an option since there are very few days I can run full magnification but a lot of opportunities to use less.
