Michael Yon & IED

Re: Michael Yon & IED

In the world of Special Forces there have always been a few guys who make it through training but then do not have the ability to be a team member and pursue that lifestyle and the challenges it requires. Yon is one of those who who made it through training but could not accept our standards.

Yon makes this statement on our forum in post #16 of the red cross thread:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"><span style="font-weight: bold">Not one of you
If this is the new Special Forces, my decision to leave was correct. I am not one of you.</span> </div></div>

His declaration that he is not one of us and that we have somehow changed says volumes about him as a person. The only change I have seen in the Special Forces since my time back during the Vietnam war is that it is more selective and has more modern equipment. We still are what we have always been -- brothers who do a job few others are willing to undertake.

Re: Michael Yon & IED

I love watching professional suicide in full view of the public. I realized he was an idiot last year after the Tarnak River bridge article he posted. Now he takes on SF calling them murderers based on (unsubstantiated claims of) second hand info from years back? What a fool.

Re: Michael Yon & IED

I believe Yon's ego can not handle being around SF because of the circumstances of his short lived "career".

He should follow his own advise and start acting professional.
