Ordered a case of small rife primers yesterday. Got an order confirmation at the time the order was placed and then another one by e-mail last night. Today I get an e-mail saying they have to cancel the order. I would have at least expected them to place it on backorder and allocate the amount they confirmed from their next shipment. Is that being unreasonable? Anybody else have this happen?

I was able to grab 1000 LRP last night which have already shipped. I also got 5000 SRP, but haven’t received a shipping notification or an order cancellation yet. Just hanging in limbo.

Midway does what they can. I backorder some bullets at the pre Covid price. Later that day they changed the price and changed to "no backorder", so I fully expect to get my order cancelled.
Later that week I get a notice that my 1500 bullets are inbound. Only thing I can figure is that they changed the website and then went and "found" some bullets to honor the order.

Difficult times is right. I have yet to have Brownells cancel an order; they've always just backordered whatever for me. I did call Midway. Aparrently their customer service lines are getting hammered, too. Waited 36 minutes on hold to have a very nice lady tell me there's nothing they can do and they can't backorder any primers or ammo for any reason. I wanted to tell her they should probably remove the word confirmation from their ordering system and e-mails then, but I didn't on account of she's probably already hearing about enough stuff that's out of her control. I don't envy anyone in her position these days.
yeah sites are getting shut down they're so overwhelmed. i got an email confirm from midway yesterday and it also hit my card yesterday for the 5k srp i ordered so hoping it's shipping.
you/they know they're getting more in at some point so yeah backordering seems reasonable, but sure it's easier for them to just cancel what they cannot fill right now vs trying to allocate their next incoming shipment. at least they're cancelling within 24 hours so it's not like we're out any money or time.

Ordered five AICS mags and Brownells canceled one. The mags are still showing in stock...WTF? Sent them an email inquiry and got an auto reply that they’ll “do their best” to reply but they said it would take several days.
I quit using Midway years ago after spending thousands of dollars with them i started looking around as thier prices just kept creaping up and were no longer competitive.
well at least they had the decency to cancel the order rather than hold your money for 2 years and for get all about you or hope you forgot all about it and keep your money .
I think the last time i ordered powder from them is when i bought 16lbs of H100V when it first came out.

Strange times. I had some bullets in my cart as I contemplated a couple of other items. Next morning it went up $4 or $5.
I bought ammo from Midway this week, and it showed up today. No DL on file. In 15 years, I've never had any orders cancelled, never had any issues.

Some companies are timing out back ordered items while others are asking if you want to continue to be on a back ordered status. This isn't anything new.
Got my SRP/SPP primer order shipped from last night. Potterfield has been good to me. Brownells has canceled at least 6 primer orders. Natchez canceled one and cut another down to only 1k last week. It’s tough out there. Seems like there is a drop every couple weeks. Keep trying.

Brownells cancelled my LRP order after confirmation. I was just surprised I got that far. It seems that every time I get to checkout, the cart collapses and poof...it's empty-OOS
They are not totally innocent in that respect. I was about to pull the trigger on some 77grain TMK for 175 for 500, went to order them an hour or so later and the price jumped up to like 195 for 500. So I said fuckem and ordered them from Creedmoor sports instead... Midway is taking advantage of the situation, maybe not to the extent of CTD, but they are. They did the same thing on 223 Lapua brass...
