Military backpack?

Re: Military backpack?

You might check out the 5.11 Rush series... Rush 12, Rush 24 and Rush 72.

Designed by special operations combat veteran Kyle Lamb of VTAC. Allow me to repeat information from 5.11's web site:

"Kyle E. Lamb served his country for 21 years, 17 of which were with the most elite elements of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command. He was decorated for valor for his actions in Mogadishu, Somalia, during the battle that was made famous by the movie Blackhawk Down, and during Operation Iraqi Freedom. SGM Lamb's master-level expertise comes directly from real world experience, making him one of the most credible and sought-after shooting and tactics instructors in the United States. He also owns Viking Tactics, Inc. and is the inventor of the Viking Tactics Sling."

Re: Military backpack?

on my third deployment to iraq, back in 06, i bought a viper pack. daily load was everything our grunts carried, plus 20 or more pounds of C-4 and all the rest of our demo stuff. i still use it from time to time at work, the last time was to carry a 5 HP electic motor to the top of a grain bin, the shipping weight of the motor was a little over 130lbs.

given the chance and knowledge, i would've bought one before my 1st tour so i could've had it through all 3.

I carried a BFM for two Iraq deployments...I carried close to 100 lbs regularly and it held up. I carried two radios, spare batteries, LZ marking kit, spare ammo...I wouldn't want to hump with it for 26 miles...but I did spend many 12 hr days on Ops...never failed....zippers held and had more than enough room to carry my shit.

Re: Military backpack?

Thanks everybody.
I bought a Maxpedition Vulture a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was US made when I ordered it, but it's not. That was a bummer.
It looks like it's put together well though. I think it'll work just fine for my use.

Re: Military backpack?

Before Iraq, I had a Bug out Bag. Great bag. Really tough, but only a few Molle loops.

In Iraq I used the bug out bag and also bought a Camelback motherload backpack. Has a ton of molle loops. Really liked it. It still use it for hunting.

After retiring, I bought a SOG bag at the PX. Not as stout as the first two, but it's still a good bag (tons of Molle loops) and for only 60 bucks you can't beat it.

Those are probably the majority of the bags you'll see guys carring. Since, that's pretty much what they are selling in the PX these days. There has been more and more Tactical Tailor stuff in the PX these days.

Can anyone identify this bag? There is no marking on it whatsoever. I cant find anything online that look similar.
