The problem from that stems from the weapons I currently have <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">and would like to purchase</span></span>. First is my AR-15, it has a collasping stock. Second is my M700, I want to get a folding stock for it and third is that I'm really considering an AI AW with a folder. From everything I've been able to tell this is illegal in California. Is it illegal on a military installation?</div></div>
From GunWiki
State of Residency
It is important to be aware that you must have a state of residence in which assault weapons are legal, in order to get one of these permits. If you are a Californian service member, then the MAWP does nothing for you because your home state prohibits assault weapons.
About Magazines
It is VERY important to note that although the MAWP allows you to bring in assault weapons, it does NOT allow you to bring in large capacity magazines (i.e. magazines with over 10 rounds capacity). You may disassemble and retain the parts of the large capacity magazines disassembled, but any assembled magazines you possess in California must be either magazines you've owned in CA prior to 2000, or have a maximum capacity of 10 rounds.
Who to Contact
You'll want to call (916) 263-8100, which is the "Assault Weapon Registration and Special Weapon Permits" line.
The point of contact USED to be Yolanda Garcia, but she's no longer there; Terry is now the proper POC.
Oh and fuck you again </div></div>
He is from Alaska, Alaska allows their residents to own "assault weapons" therefore he should have no problem getting a MAWP because (since your reading comprehension fails) he <span style="font-weight: bold">ALREADY HAS</span> an AR15.
The childish insults are a nice touch, but its nice to see you finally did your research. You are now saying after the fact to call the AW permit line, when yesterday you posted:
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">
If you want your AR just buy a OLL with a bullet button and transfer all the parts with a 10rnd mag. </div></div>
Does that make a lot of sense to you?
Back to the original issue: the point is, if you already own an AR15 and you are active duty and get orders for Pendleton, you would have no problem getting a Military AW permit which would allow you to keep your gun as-is.
The other thing is that you were flat out wrong, you are mad that I pointed out that you were clueless, and you have now decided to resort to slinging insults to try to take the attention off of your own incompetence. If I were you, I would edit your earlier post now so you don't look stupid.
Have a nice day. </div></div>
I didn't know you could do this, I always thought they would follow state law, good to know.
