Re: Milled AK vs Vz 58

The AK is a much better choice, especially in the US. No advantage to a milled, though. I guess if you just wanted your rifle to be heavier for no real reason.

Re: Milled AK vs Vz 58

You are comparing apples to oranges here. Two completely different rifles, internally. Parts are not interchangeable. Look is the only similarity. If you want absolutely the best, Arsenal can build you one.

Re: Milled AK vs Vz 58

The Russians stopped making milled recievers because of weight and cost and maybe cracking. The Vz is milled but is actually lighter than an AKM. The only commonality between the 2 systems would be the ammo and maybe the slings. The Vz's mags are aluminum and lighter and appear less robust. That all being said my friends w/ both prefer the Vz but there isnt as much support or accessories out there for them.

Re: Milled AK vs Vz 58

Fit and finish on the Vz58 is better than most AK variants and it has features that are more desirable. For instance, the safety position and the bolt hold open after the last round.

The AK has the upper hand with popularity and aftermarket support.

Both do the job they were designed for.

Please...

Of course they crack on occasion. Nothing is impervious to failure.

Re: Milled AK vs Vz 58

Will send the vote for the arsenal milled. Power triggers are amazing
Biggest down fall to the vz in my book is the cost of mags. Also long term the arsenal will be a better investment

If you get a vz pay the extra and get the cz guys around here seem to like them alot better
