I meant to post this awhile back, just forgot to.

I had a Millet Picatinny rail on my Savage for the longest time, and was using Burris XTR rings with no issue.

Well I got a Razor to put on it with the Vortex rings, then switched them out for ARC M3 rings.

The problem with the rail is that the slots are not spaced properly. The Vortex rings would not go on the rail without modification to the slots, and I assume the M3's would probably not either. The burris rings worked fine because the recoil lugs are not full width in them.

Just wanted to throw this out there as forewarning to anyone looking for a rail.

Anyone else noticed this or did I get a dud?

Re: Millet Picatinny Scope base

I have seen this same problem. You do have a Millett rail and they do call it a picatinny rail. However, it is not true picatinny spec. The recoil notches are not .206'' wide and are not alwasy spaced evently. It is more of a picatinny 'style' rail and not true 1913 spec. Go with a nice Nightforce 1 piece rail, true pic spec and will work great for you.

I was just about to hop on your site to show the above poster how it claims Picatinny spec.

I already threw an EGW on it when I switched to the ARC rings, works much better.

FWIW, I have gone over to the Weaver extended multi slot rail. They have a small recoil lug and are very well made, I like that they have the "full" slots instead of the "ears" like the EGW.
