Mini-14 stock ?

I know I'll probably catch some hell and be told to get an AR, but this is what I have and it was a gift from my wife, and I like the reliability of the simple little gun.
Ok, anyone have an ATI or Tapco stock, and what are your opinions on both. Am in the process of making my own barrel strut to improve accuracy a bit, and will run a variable power scope. Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion, but for the price I could damn near buy an AR. I am operating on a budget, and just want out of my factory wood stock, to accessorize and use the rifle.

I bought a simple Hogue and felt it was an improvement on my Mini as far as length of pull and handling-cheap option

the best option to improve accucary in the Mini is a decent bedding job. for that, the original wood stock is a real peach. some of the cheaper aftermarket stocks can actually reduce accuracy.

using ONLY factory magazines will also help ensure reliability max accuracy as well (no, I'm not kidding

)

a fine stoning on the trigger surfaces will go a long way as well.

a few very simple tweaks can make that thing a decent <2MOA shooter with boring reliability. Ive shot mine out to 500 on KD ranges with fine success. it's a decent combat accurate and reliable system.

Mine has never left the factory folding stock....and never will.
Probably one of the best folders ever made (IMHO).
