Anyone ever heard of/done business with MJ steel? I'm tempted to buy a plate from them because the price is very good, but I can't remember where I heard about them from. I would like some advice from anyone with experience with them.
http://www.mj-steel.com/default.asp there's the site; info would be appreciated.

Re: MJ Steel

Price was low, I thought I had been recommended to them but I can't remember who did the recommending because it was at least a month ago so I was hoping someone here might be able to add confidence. It doesn't have to be them. Also my uncle wanted 3/4 steel which I can't seem to find many places (and no it shouldn't be necessary, but since we're going in on it together I try to compromise).

If it turns out to be not worth my time I'll go with someone else, but I thought it warranted a post.

...plus he answers your PM's and emails quickly, good prices.
Jake i'll get back to you on my purchase, i'm still flip flopping alittle.

it's always good to shop around, not knocking MJ either (don't know anything about them) and if anyone has input on them for the good of the order that's great, but see what JC can do for you too.

every now and then he'll do group or discount buys too where you can get some really good deals.

+100 for Jake and JCSteel. The funds spent also go to supporting a great organization The Jubilee Youth Ranch, and prices are hard to beat.

Re: MJ Steel

You can also check local welding shops, places that sell steel, and have them cut, shipping can kill a deal.

Around here, with the mining industry, you can find more
AR 400-450-500 plate rems than probably anywhere, cheap!
Any pic on the web can serve as a template, and 50% of good shops have the tools to cut it.
A thought.

JCSteel will ship USPS Priority Flat Rate so you can mix and match targets (up to 70 lbs) and pay the same rate that you'd pay to ship anything else the same way.....
