1) Does anyone have a photo of the exact markings put on a Mk13 barrel? I understand its a Stainless Lija barrel that has been bead blasted.
2) How large of a recoil lug will the AICS 1.0-2.0 take?

See attached photo of my recoil lug - will I have to replace? Sorry I need a better ruler...

When I built my mod7, I had to use a .30" PTG pinned parallel lug. This is what Stiller provided with some of the actions according to Russ. The tapered units required the AX stock to be relieved. There is some questions about what got used, the PTG unit or an AI lug. Stiller also shipped with 20MOA bases which DID NOT get used. The project got changed as the initial run was for 30moa bases and the powers that be changed their minds last minute so Stiller had to run 20 MOA scope bases off to ship. Shame they probably got tossed out as the mod7 chassis kit needs the TAC300 AI base to match the 20 MOA contiguous rail.

You planning on building a mod5?

I don't have a mod5 yet, but here is my 700/300 (pre-McCann rail and Sako extractor) and a Mod7 build with an AX chassis. The mod7 took 8 months to complete because of that scope rail. If you build a mod7 and want it correct in and timely manner, just buy the $1500 mod7 stock kit. It'll cost and couple hundred more but save a bunch time headache in the long run. I didn't want another tan and black rifle but if I was doing it again I'd just paint the mod7 stock.

If the 1.0 and 2.0 are like the AX, the issue probably isn't going to be the thickness front to back, it's going to be the taper on the sides. The one I have, and to my knowledge they are the same, require a parallel lug, not a tapered unit.

Hopefully, someone who's built a mod5 will chime in, and you'll be fine. Otherwise , be prepared to have the chassis opened up in the lug well or start source a stock lug and be ready to have the barrel settled back.

Bringing this back up. Somebody here has built with an AICS 2.0 stock and knows what lug they used. Parallel or tapered?
