Has anyone here replaced a Ruger Mk? trigger with a Volquartsen kit? I've got a MkIV that I'd like to get the trigger replaced in and thought I'd go with a Volquartsen. Can the average guy with enough knowledge to be dangerous do this? I've been quoted $250/275 to do it but I can get a kit from Midway for <$120. I know my way around wrenches and have built several AR's, but I'm not adverse to putting out the money to have someone else do it either. How tough is it?

I installed a Volquartsen kit into a 22/45 MK-IV Lite a couple months ago. It works great! I watched a couple videos online to get an idea of how to do it. If you study the parts in the gun, and watch the video as many times as needed to understand, then you should be able to do it.

Same here ( although mine was a Mk 3 -22/45 ). Exactly as ShtrRdy said - You Tube and a little study of the gun does it. LOL though, took only about 10 minutes to get the trigger in , and about 1 hour to get the mainspring housing lined up & re-inserted correctly.

I just did mine a few weeks ago along with the bolt tune up kit. It really wasn’t all that difficult and like mentioned above YouTube and patience is your friend. One tip I would give is make sure to really inspect every piece and how it fits and functions as you take it apart. Good luck, you will love the new trigger!

I installed the accurizing kit in my grandsons Lite.....and as others have said, it's not really difficult...just review volquartsen's directions thoroughly and some vids too...

If you are not comfortable, Volquartsen does the installs for $70.00.
