Member Link Up MN member checking in!

Re: MN member checking in!

No website, had to find it the old fashioned way, through google. I then found it on google earth and measured the range. Shows a small rifle area with 25,50,100, and 200 yard increments. Head strait down 35 (WI) to 46 (which is also 150th st). Stay on 150th st when the road turns left to go into Balsam lake, go strait 2 1/4 miles. Its on the left side of the road.

Here is a directional map coming in from the north. Yeah, I know its simple to find but you city folk amaze me sometimes.LOL:)

Re: MN member checking in!

I'd love to go and will start loading some ammo, and clean the gun from the last match. I made a hole in my hand today about an inch deep and had to get a tube put in and stiched shut but it should be healed up in time to shoot from the sling.

There's usually a 1000 yd match in Lodi the week or two before the Eau Claire one, alwayse been going to go but have never made it. We'll keep an eye out on the Harris Mn. matches also, the range is only an hour from the house here.

Re: MN member checking in!

shot at balsm lake gun club many times 200 yars max but it is all trenched so you can go and change targets while others are shooting prettycool but the down side is it is very wet and there are lots of moskitos in the summer

Re: MN member checking in!

So I called Precision Coatings in St Paul about getting my SS muzzle break teflon coated (closest thing to the "texured" mat finish on my SPS Tactical) and they have a $200 lot minimum. Would there any advantage to having the bolt dis-assembled and coated? also anyone else have anything they need done to share and cut down on some of the cost?

I was just there last night, put 400 rounds through my new 22lr kit I bought for my 1911!!! 100% flawless functionality.

Bills is having their spring "shooters show" in Robbinsdale this weekend.

Not too far from the truth - I had to fix my tiny, undersized snowblower soon after the first snowfall.

I should have checked in on this thread more often but I knew I wouldn't be able to shoot until the late spring, between work up here and the family.

However, spring is here, and I just caught up on the last 10 pages of the thread - maybe I'll get a kitchen pass for a match?

Naw the show wasnt as bad as I had thought it would be....I did however pick up 2K 210Match for $45 each....not too shabby of a snag....now I just have to find some damn small rifle primers....I sure wish that Gun Stop was open on Sundays....I would have run down there to see if John had some....

Nope just called him...he has Zero rifle primers of any size
</div></div>

Good find. Right when I moved up here this past summer I got the last 210M primers that Gander had in stock. I haven't seen any more anywhere since. I did find some CCI #34 primers at the MWCA funshow in Feb. for $32-ish a box, and I bought all three boxes the guy had. I figure I can load some FAL/M-14 fodder with them at least.

Low and behold, they were stocking the powder cabinet. HOORAY!! No 8lb.ers but plenty of one lb. Varget. I snagged a few. I was going to buy it all but they weren't looking to give any quanity discount. Lots of all the other stuff too. 5lb RE-15,as well as one lb. 4350, pretty much everything. NO primers at all though. </div></div>

That's an interesting store. I asked him two weeks ago about 210M primers, and the owner/manager/resident old dude behind the counter said that Federal makes more money selling them in loaded ammo than as components so they're not selling to stores & distributors. I hadn't heard that version yet.

Before my next trip to the cities I'll post here if anyone wants some powder from them. They do have a good supply. I just need to find someone who has the big jugs of Ramshot TAC for sale...

Not yet - I've still got my dream job, a great house in a nice area, and most importantly a happy family - I guess I can deal with the cold! I only wish I could shoot more.

To add to the benefits, I'm joining the local club w/an indoor range tomorrow night. Not bad!

There's a chance I'll be in the Cities on Wednesday. I don't know if I can get to SSS tomorrow, or if we could link up in the Cities on Wednesday, but maybe something will work out.

A little boy, 6 pounds 12 ounces and 19 inches long. William Del, after my Grandfather. Now the fun begins!

New Winchester 308 Win brass

I am looking for a FTF sale so if someone around the twin Cities or shoots F-class at ERSC on Monday nights wants to buy some brass that just got delivered for my cost of $121.83 for 300 speak up. I ordered for pickup at the Cabelas in Rogers when I was having a hard time finding it and now I have about 1,000 pieces from other sources so I do not need it and someone else may.

Editing note: I made a mistake when I wrote 200 it is actually 300 cases as the message states now.

Thanks

BK....so how did the ole Savage shoot?</div></div>

Well couldnt really say, I went to the range all ready to findout, bought a nice box of BH Match and discovered when I got to the range the the Knobs at Gnder Mtn apparently dont know how to level a scope, cause mine is canted to the left. So basically because I was itching so bad to shoot her, I blew the back and didnt hit crap, but it was fun anyway. So im gonna grab my dads feeler gauges and plumb and fix it myself...

hows the little one doing?

Re: New Winchester 308 Win brass

She is doing GREAT.....eating like crazy....

Left the Hospital at 7 lbs 6 oz....had a 3 week checkup done on Wednesday and found out she is already at 9lbs 11oz.......yea I would say she likes to eat...

...I hate to say ...I told you so....but ah...well...

At least you got to pull the trigger though!

Re: New Winchester 308 Win brass

HAHAHA....They are nice for the big hitters but man everyone around you pays for it.....the worst brake Ive ever heard was a JP brake....damn things are painful even with 223......my old Vias on my 300WM wasnt too bad........
