Absolutly no bolt sticking or even stiff...No preassure signs....I might try to push them to see what it will take and what velocities itll push.....

Yea I just guessed at a powder charge and loaded up a total of 10.....needless to say I pulled a Marty....

The Unertle is doing good....I might need to send it in though....the fine adjust ring is so stiff I can barely move the damn thing.....I m going to have to make a spanner wrench though.....paralax is a bit off....

any of you barrel nut brothers want a 1 in 8" twist .223AI tube?

EDIT:

I changed my mind....Ive got too many irons in the fire...and probably couldnt get around to playin with that barrel for a long time....besides one of the guys here might actually need a barrel.....

But, I'm going to be back in the great state of MN on Tuesday, for the duration, or at least until I get an all-expenses-paid trip somewhere else in the future. AZ was nice, a few range trips, two F-class matches at 500 yards, and a chance to see how my M-40A1 build shoots as well.

I hope to be able to hook up with you guys - so to speak!!!

Hey, do any of you have Austan's phone numbers?

I might head over to Marty's place Wednesday morning to finish my Badger build and get some rounds down range if anyone is interested. Austan supposedly has the day off and Greg may be going too, anyone want to make a day of it?

Got a call from Marty, heading over to get the Badger build shooting today!!! Anybody else going? I know Greg is going I will have to call Austan and get thet lazy bum out of bed.

Well, we made it over to Wisconsin today and put the barrel on and popped a couple rounds at 100 to get on paper and then started here at 1000 yards:

Shot a few 5 shot groups but the wind was seriously kicking my ass today so I could only manage around a 10" group but once the barrel is broken in I am thinking this thing is gonna be a shooter for sure!

A special thanks to Wi50 for the use of his lathe and time to get this project up and running and also to SF340_Driver for helping me finish my .223 Ackley barrel today as well! Stand up guys that turn out some seriously good hardware here guys!!!

when things slow down I'd like to have a get togather out here where we can shoot, reload and test or do any msc. lathe or mill work and make a day or two out of it

Sorry I couldn't make it down. We had a death in the family and there been a lot of stuff going on this week. Looks like you guys had fun. Nice to see the beans down, bet that makes checking targets quicker.

Hey Adam, what color are you going to make the barreled action in the FDE stock?

I am going to Cerakote it in "Graphite Black" I figure that will look pretty good.

Hey, I just got off the phone with Jonathan and we are going to go shoot at Elk River Thursday or Friday next week... Anybody else wanna come with? I have to sight in a bit @ 100 with the new .223AI and re sight in the Badger with the Nightforce I borrowed and then we figured we go play in the KD range if anyone is interested.

Man...you guys suck....I hate Minnesota and the damn short shooting ranges and lack of distance to shoot....I gotta get out to 1000 again or Im gonna go nuts....

Looks like a hell of a time though guys.....sure wish I could have been there....

Next Thursday I got roped into giving two speeches at my college....a bunch of dignitaries and retired Generals are coming for an after Veteran's day tour of the college to see how Vets are doing at the school.....Fuckin yae.....

Well Gunman and I got some deer tonight....he shot one with the 75gr Amax from his 223 and I shot two with my M40A1 using 175gr SMK's.....will have terminal ballistic pics tomorrow....

Pretty surprised the Amax's dropped that deer the way it did....Cris will have more info for you guys soon though....
