Wait... Austan has a local rage? Minong range? MACHINE GUN SHOOTS!?!?

DAMMIT Austan, are you holding out on us again!?!

Re: MN member checking in!

I occasionally shoot over at IRPC (Indianhead Rifle & Pistol Club) even though it should be called STC (Spooner Trap Club). Piss poor layout to say the least. They throw the clays at the 100 yard benches so you can't shoot while they are shooting and they shoot all the damn time. The whole thing is run by trap shooters. I've been told strait out by them that they would prefer to rid the place of the 1 and 2 hundred yard rifle ranges and make it ALL trap range. They have a 600 yard range which I use... now that they know me. Otherwise they discourage people from using it. The first time I used it was in the winter and a guy called the sheriff. I came back from checking targets and the County sheriff was waiting for me by my stuff. He started proclaiming that I shouldn't shoot in the winter because my bullets would skip into Trego. I flat out told him how stupid that was and an argument ensued. By the end of it, it was discovered that my father works with/ and is good friends with his brother so now I suddenly am less of a danger and can shoot there when ever I want. Small town politics at there best, sheesh. I'm making some Marty inspired target boards and a stand to put out there this spring if we ever see one.

I wasn't aware they had a machine gun shoot in Trego. Do you know where? and when?

Re: MN member checking in!

They used to have the machine gun shoot between Minong and Trego on 53 by where all the old military equipment sits but on the other side of the highway on Memorial day. Then they had it at the minong range but there was too many people worried about the guys shootin 50 cals so it kinda fizzeld away after that. I was hoping you were a part of it to try to get it going again.

Re: MN member checking in!

Until the "big 3" pull their heads out of their asses and offer something to the American market like they have for years to the European market, folks like myself will continue to purchase the grossly over powered AWD Japanese sedans.... Years of winning ralley championships has really taught Mitsubishi and Subaru a thing or two about building cars that perform excellent in ALL catagories.

Hey guys, do me a quick favor and check out my website and see if you can find any typos or glitches for me... My web guy gave me some instruction last weekend and I am hammering away at it trying to get some products listed up and get pics uploaded.

Re: MN member checking in!

Have well over 400HP in the 3500lb Trans Am... The Marauder is stock with aluminum V8, puts out a little over 300HP. Not the greatest hole shot but anything above 30mph and it puts you back in the seat nicely. With a direct bolt on supercharger with this car puts it in the low 12's in the 1/4 mile. But I don't exactly have the 5k for the supercharger.... My current addiction to firearms keeps it stock...

Re: MN member checking in!

Big difference between the P71's and the Marauders. It handles like its on rails, have a few friends here in MN with superchargers that come to BIR and run the whole track with the Corvette club. They tried to get me to do it but naturally aspirated I can't keep up...

Re: MN member checking in!

Awesome weather today! Spent a couple hours @ the range.
Took some time w/ my pistols, got used to the 3 inch trigger pull on my new LCP(might be exaggerating

)and put my first 15 rounds through my 700SPS Tactical (.308)
it was a good day

Re: MN member checking in!

I'm not new to the Hide but I'm finally getting back to MN (after college and Iraq). Does anyone know some decent places to bird hunt? There are some game farms/preserves with in a couple hours of my house but I was hoping for public land or private land with hunting access.

Thanks.

Re: MN member checking in!

Hey Fudd...glad to see you back...how did things go? Where are you living now? That would help with some ideas...First I would check to see what the bird population is like after the winter we just had...if the population is way down I wouldnt really bother trying to track them down yourself....what are you after exactly?
