what are the big differences in moa or mil's i've always used moa and everyone i shoot with does too, and what is the best reticle for which one i'm looking at a NF nxs but not sure on reticle still i like the np-r1, mlr, but i'm familiar with the mildot

Re: moa or mil

Its a preferance that you will either aquire or hate!!!
I like mils in that all items are in direct proportion to 1 like .1 mil at 1000 meters?

so you have to decide what you like then go that way
I have all mils reticles and adjustments on my scopes and like it that way

Re: moa or mil

MOA and Mil is like comparing miles to kilometers. They're both units of measure, you can convert between them using a standard coefficient, and it really doesn't matter which one you use but it's a hell of a lot easier if you're consistent.

So speaking to your current issue:

Either get a NXS with MOA turrets and the NP-R1 or Mil turrets and the MLR (or possibly mildot.) That way if you read your miss as being 1.1 Mil using the reticle all you have to do is dial 1.1 Mil of adjustment in your turrets (or the same thing with the NP-R1 and an MOA reticle.)

There are LOTS and LOTS of discussions of which one is better, usually started by someone asking the same basic question as you and everyone always agrees that it doesn't matter as long as your turrets match your reticle. Beyond that we're just fighting over details. Use the link in my sig to search for some of them, often they have the same thread title you used.

Ratbert,

I thought we all HAD to use Mils because of Ju-Ju monkey boy whispering. Now you say it does not matter?????

Color me disillusioned.......
