Re: MOD Armory Camille test drives the new Dual PVS 14

first= Always wondered what Camille looked like. Now we know. No wonder Hunter has her do all his PR work--just kidding hunter>

Looks like Wendy did the helmet in camo also.

What does just the mount for the two 14's cost? I already hjave two 14's.

I got a walk through of the Unit at the Mod Armory booth at Shot.

Really well thought out unit, lots to like about it.

When retracted into the flat against the helmet position there was a noticeable difference in how it felt. Really impressive

This is still in the prototype stages BUT we are shooting to have this to market under $600

The team wendy helmets are phenomenal. The multicam is on order and set to be available in two weeks.

Of all the features our customers find the Team Wendy extremely comfortable after wearing them for a long period of time. In extreme cold the pads do not turn to bricks and in extreme heat they do not have a "marshmellow effect." The retention system is hands down better then the OPSCore and it includes a warranty. There are many more perks to the helmet. If you have more questions feel free to email or give us a call.

Re: MOD Armory Camille test drives the new Dual PVS 14

We are working on the second Gen Prototypes right now. We are shooting for an, end of March release. Everyone who has gotten to play with a set is very excited about the project! They will offer quite a few possibilities getting people into a High Quality Dual Tubes system without them having to sell a PVS 14 that they already have, in order to afford a dual tube set up!

Re: MOD Armory Camille test drives the new Dual PVS 14

That is exactly what I was thinking to do,to have 2 pvs-14 attached on a easy to use helmet mount.I currently have 1 pvs-14 unit and its hard to look with one eye open and one closed,a dual mount system would be so much better. Will it attach to the wilcox mount?
Thanks
Ron

Yes Two Night Vision Aided Eyes are better than one! Also, these are primarily designed to attach to a Rhino Mount that uses the Wilcox/Navy Dovetail. So any Wilcox G-24 or Norotos INVG (just to name a couple) will work!

Re: MOD Armory Camille test drives the new Dual PVS 14

That's great because a lot of folks have the dove tail(wilcox g-24) now days. Are there any pics or drawings on the new product yet?
Thanks
Ron

Not yet, we will get "all ya'all" a sneak peak in the weeks to come! The first Gen Prototypes were at shot but they are getting modified now!

Re: MOD Armory Camille test drives the new Dual PVS 14

To be honest, you are probably better off getting a full weight combat helmet, either in the same design as the one in the video (just the actual bullet resistant version) or maybe an OPS Core Ballistic, etc.

The reason is that the normal helmet is heavier, and you need the weight for stabilty of the dual PVS-14 setup.

Notice that her helmet has a counter weight on the rear. I've played with the same setup, but it's somewhat heavy. Works great, but it's heavy.

I will also say that you want nice tubes for this. Previously, I'd say you want something with Pinnicle (sp) tubes, as you can set them on the lowest setting and have *just* enough gain to see eveything, but not enough to cause eye strain.

I'm sure Mod-Armory can hook you up.

I have been looking for a NV capable helmet for awhile. Would like to chat with you about getting one coming my way! Thanks

You can give us a call at (719) 325 8070 or you may send an email to [email protected].

KYS338, Give her a call. I have the multi cam Wendy as well as three other mfg helmets to include the ops core, and the Team Wendy has no competition.

It is by far the most comfortable I have worn, and works great with the PVS-14. Never gotten any bad recommendations from Modarmory.

I was told at least a month.... that was about 2 weeks ago.

We have started turning metal on the first production run! We are now planing on the end of April, or the beginning of May. I will keep people updated as we get closer. We will have a prototype set at Knob Creek if anyone wants to come by the Mod Armory Tent and have a look see in person at what these are all about.

What the video doesn't show is the quick detach feature of each Individual Mono. You can, with a single button push, quickly and easily remove either 14 off the mount, JUST as quickly, clip it onto a weapon (We like the DLOC mount). Flip the remaining mono up and stow it, (or not) then take your shot (Passively sighting if need be) through a holographic sight (of your choice) maintaining a normal cheek weld as if the 14 were weapon mounted. Once your done shooting, go right back to the helmet. Its astoundingly quick! This set up solves a whole host of problems with running dual tubes in conjunction with a weapon. At shot most people who came by and saw them said "WOW these are really well thought out!" We think so as well.

This product will give current PVS 14 owners a viable option to get into a dual tube set up with out having the sell their PVS 14 and then save up thousands more to buy a dedicated dual tube system that is, DEDICATED to just being goggles.

Camille, Hopefully you still have me on the list for the dual set up. I haven't tried the RC PVS14 yet, no time. Our boss still is wanting to get some items for the SWAT team this year as well. Talk with you later. Dave/Utah

Sigh, where does time go?
Next week, mid week the machine shop begins plating. I am not a machinist so I do not know what that all entails except for it is one of the final production stages.
Retail is $550.00 and SH members $525.00.
That being said we are not accepting money until we can physically put the dual mount in a box and ship it! The best way to pre-order these units is to send a PM or email your contact information. Once they become available we will call and/or email customers.
We had demo units at the Snipers Hide Cup.

Chris,

Our storefront is in Colorado Springs, CO and if you are in the area we would love for you to stop by. One of our business partners is located in twinfalls, Idaho - Pete from I^2 Technologies. He will also have the dual mount. If all goes according to plan we should have the first batch completed next week!

Awesome! I actually fly a lot and will most likely be down there in a couple weeks. Sad that it will be cheaper to fly to CO than to drive to Twin Falls! I'll keep watching for them to be completed and ready to sell.

Thanks

It's simply one of our Standard DLOC Weapons Mount attached around the Focus Limiting Ring. On our (the big three that is, Ident Marking, Mod Armory and I^2 Technologies) PVS-14s, We have manufactured and added, a custom, upgraded focus limiting ring that greatly enhances any ring type clamping accessory that is designed to attach on the 14's ring.

If only I could play intro music!

Will the mount work with other monoculars the use PVS-14 mounts, like the AB Nightvision NVM-2AA housing? I have been thinking about getting an AB NV housing or NV Depot Micro housing for my Envis unit. If not, I may have to upgrade it into a PVS-14 housing.

At this time, the Monocular Mounting Arms (MMA) are specific to the PVS 14 only. In fact, they are specific to the PVS 14 being either L3 or ITT. When ordering, you need to specify which Brand of PVS 14 you have and if you are mixing and matching, let us know which position you want what arm in. Alas the MMAs are left or right specific.

Now we may in the future do a run of Arms that fit other monos if we get enough demand for it! These are in stock and ready to ship!

I received my mount about a week ago. I have been wanting to get a dual setup for a while but my pvs14 was out of warranty and I did not really want to take a hit trying to sell it to fund duals. I think that is what makes this mount so awesome you can use what you already have and still have the versatility to split them up if you have a buddy.

I could not be happier with my purchase, the mount is very well thought out and built. The folks who came up with the mount truly knocked this one out of the park!!!

ETA: Here are a couple pics of mine. Also one of my brothers has been messing with my mount quite a bit and is going to be ordering one before too long I am sure.

Thanks for the kind words MCM, there was a great deal of thought and engineering that went into it. I've been using the different iterations of prototypes for over a year and I'm still amazed at how much I like it. My other dual tube systems are collecting dust. I used to take off and stow my PVS-15's if I was loitering or riding around with the lights on for a while because they were so front heavy with them folded up. Now I just fold the D-14's back on the helmet and leave them attached.

HA HA HA if people only KNEW! How good your personal PVS-15s really are, they would spit up their morning coffee all over their monitors at the idea of those things sitting there in their carrying case, collecting dust! Seriously those things see into the FUTURE they are so clear!
