Modding a Mark II for a little squirt...

My daughter has had a cricket for the past year, but last night I put her on my Savage FVTR and she LOVED it, she was banging gongs at 50 yards, even though it was WAY to big for her. At 9 she is till the smallest in her class. I measured her LOP last night and its 9.5-10". I was looking at getting a boyds tacticool stock and getting a used FV if I can find one, the problem being I need to cut off about 4 inches from the back of that stock, and do something about the reach from the grip to the trigger.

Think its possible? How do I shorten up that trigger reach? Any ideas, she did request a hot pink paint job... honestly I can live with that!

Cut the stock and then add some padding to the front of the pistol grip.

I believe savage makes a youth model if your interested...don't know how hard it would be to find in stores but either way great job getting your daughter shooting with you!

Savage makes two youth model Mark II's. The Mark II GLY and the Mark II GY. The "L" being left-handed. MSRP is $240 and Buds currently has them both in stock for $204.

Going with one of these leaves you open to change out the stock later with something like the Boyds Tacticool and in turn bring it back into a fullsize rifle. That way she'll never outgrow it.
