Gr8shotSS...
Dont let anyone here or anywhere else run that Savage is a POS on you...I kick Remmy ass damn near every time I go to the range with a 1994 110FP in .308...I run a Choate, extensively hand lapped factory barrel(original), a CDI DBM, 20MOA rail, Harris bipod, a SSS .250 lug, SWFA 20X with the factory 3 screw tuned down to 1.75lbs...it shoots 5 round groups of 175gr FGMM into one ragged hole at 100 and 5 more well under an inch at 200 with the cold bore shot right in the middle of it all...EVERY TIME I GET BEHIND IT...more than a few Remmy Fan Boys have asked to swap guns and shoot it...ALL WALKED AWAY WITH NEW RESPECT FOR SAVAGE POS's (<span style="font-weight: bold">P</span>ositively <span style="font-weight: bold">O</span>utstanding <span style="font-weight: bold">S</span>hooter)
My advice...keep the 20X and get used to it, buy as much FGMM as your pocketbook will stand and go out a shoot the piss out of it...get used to it..learn it...figure out what you want to do with it...THEN start customizing it...McMillan-Manners-B&C all make an excellent stock...SSS makes an awesome replacement trigger as well as other parts...I ended up with the Choate because I was ready to shoot and McMillan and manners were 4-6 months back ordered (worse now) and bought the Choate Tactical...I wouldn't change it now as I'm afraid it would booger things up...the gun is as accurate as anything I've ever shot and Timex consistent and likes 175gr FGMM better than any hand load I've tried running in her...
Don't listen to the SAVAGE POS BS...its just that...run that gun and don't look back...
