Hey guys this is my first real post. I need input on barrel contour for my build. It's built on a new model 7 and is going to be my hunting rifle versus a bench gun. It's going to be in 260 rem with 22 inch tube with straight flutes. It will be for deer, hog and exotic hunting. I want to keep in fairly compact and easily packed while stalking. I've decided on a muzzle diameter of .675. Question is will this be too light, too heavy or just right. The smith said I could go .685 but not sure how heavy and how it would balance. Looking for y'all's opinion here as this is my first build. Thanks

The rifle was already in 260 so I decided to leave it as such. I've got setup to reload 260 already so decided against switching to 6.5 creedmore. Thanks

I have been thinking about rebarreling my wifes Model 7 6mm Rem and switching it to the 6-6.5x47 or a 6 Dasher so the heavier bullets can be seated out farther and fit the mag box with better accuracy and get good speed with less powder,,

as for the barrel I think a little heavier than factory and 21-22 inches long would balance better and perform great as a hunting rifle,,

I'm undecided between a .650 or .675 or anything in between. The smith said the barrel can be contoured to any measurement I desire. The factory model 7 is too light for my liking, but don't want one too heavy.
