OP- wants to buy firearm from me,out of my area,needs shipped to FFL
Me-USPS or Certified Bank check only
OP-I work for moneygram,USPS and Certified Bank Checks are my competitors
Me-I will take USPS or Certified Bank Check,the only way I will take any other form of payment is if I can cash it on the spot
OP-All you have to do is go to walmart and they will give you the cash,really easy
Me-only if that is the way it will work
OP-sends MoneyGram Money Order
Me-Go to Walmart,Walmart will not cash,said the checks are flagged
Me-Call number on MoneyGram(some third party company),told that they are good but I have to go back to the exact Walmart to have the flag removed
Me-Back to Walmart,they know nothing about any Flags,I called the number on the MoneyGram while standing at the counter and cut phone on speaker
Me-Please tell these people what they need to do(enter dept manager at Walmart)
MoneyGram Rep -Enter these approval numbers,the checks are good,cash them
Walmart Manager-runs Moneygrams,machine kicks out checks,I am sorry but they are Flagged,we cannot Cash them
Me-Please write down on a piece of paper that you will not cash the MoneyGrams
Walmart Manager-I will write that our machine will not cash them
Me-OP I am sorry,they say the checks are good but they will not cash them,I will send them back to you
OP-Will you just deposit them,they will go through that way
Me-The only way I will deposit them is if you wait until the Bank says they are clear
OP-OK I am in no hurry
Me-Deposit MoneyGrams in my account on 21st
OP-calls on the 26th,hey MoneyGram said they cashed the checks on the 21st
Me-no way,they were deposited on the 21st,I will go to the bank and see what they say. I spent an hour with the bank manager trying to verify that the MoneyGrams will be honored,although they were flagged. We called the bank on the bottom of the MoneyGram, it reads;"payable Through BOKF,NA Enid,OK
BOKF Bank-We do not cash MoneyGrams,nor have any affiliation with them,they simply use our ID#
Me to OP-You figure out how to prove these things are going to be honored,or wait until the bank gives me a clear.
Has anybody any knowledge of WTF to do,other than wait,there is no number to any place that can tell me,yes they were honored,if they do not honor them I will be out all the money and the firearm. I will never deviate from my payment policy again.
The OP that sent the MoneyGrams is an honest guy I am sure,but if those things are flagged,I say they will not cash them?
If anyone has dealt with MoneyGrams and has a number to call other than the ones on the MoneyGram,or knows what bank actually pays them,I will appreciate your help. I should not have deposited the Damn things,now I am in it too.
