Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

I'm in for 4/26 for sure, possibly 5/31 too. I'm frantically trying to work through some virgin Lapua brass so I can reload it again for this event. Quite a difference in accuracy in my rifle.

email received and replied to.

Thanks for putting this together.

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

Thanks for the emails - PMs with entry registration. I will start printing them off according to the dates requested and getting organized.

PLEASE, if you intend to come to the event let me know so I can plan accordingly! Slots are limited to the first 35 registered shooters ONLY!!

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

This morning I am developing the roster for the confirmed shooters that have currently registered to attend the 25th & 26th field shooting event.

For those that have never been to AR before, or those traveling from out of state I am adding directions to the location of the Ranch to allow you ample time to develop your travel routes to the location of the event.

If you have any further questions about the event, or locating the Ranch feel free to send me a PM or email as early as possible and I will do my best to answer your questions in a timely manner. Please do not wait till the last possible minute!

Do a Map Quest search from your location for driving directions & a map to Barber Montana. The turnoff to Barber is between Shawmut and Ryegate Montana. The location of the event is approximately 2 hours from Bozeman, and roughly 1 hour out of Billings.

Highway 12 runs between Harlowton and Rygate Montana.
Take the turnoff at Barber MT. , off of highway 12, which is South Barber Road. Go 6.3 miles south on South Barber Road, until you come to Rock Creek Road. Turn left (east) on Rock Creek Road and go 1 mile until you see a gate on your right.
Head south through the gate. There will be signs posted at the intersection of South Barber Road & Road Rock Creek Rd as well as survey tape on the gate at the event location.
Once inside the property, stay on the road until you come to the staging area. It's about 1/2 mile inside the property.

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

Not including those that have indicated they have friends attending the event with them, there are presently 20 slots available for the April dates.

If you have a friend, or friends coming with you and you are already a "confirmed" shooter please register them as soon as you confirm they are going to attend the event. This will help me with my organization. If you have not received a confirmation from me, please email or PM me again to confirm your slot!

Thanks, Aug ><>

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

Things changing for me. The 25th is a maybe, hopfully be there in the afternoon to hang our if nothing else. The 26th is looking ok for now. Depends on the spring farm work. The wonderful thing of being on the farm I seem to forget. Nothing is for sure until it is over.

Right now I am concentrating on the April event dates and have not started confirming shooters for May. As the date draws closer get back in touch with me to register for that event if you plan to attend during the May dates.

As of this morning I have only 14 slots left for April. If the weather continues to improve I could hit capacity for the April shoot, so help me out with the organization of this function & plan ahead please!

Montana

I look forward to hooking up again, hope it works out for you?? I will keep a slot open for you either way, all you have to do is show up when you can ;O)

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

Augustis,
Have you been over to your property since you got back to Montana? Will it be dried up or should we figure on a bit of mud? Do I need to bring my truck or will a car make it down to the buildings?

Thanks
Neal

Yes, I went out there about a month ago since I have been back. Further I called a local contact last week and he indicated that all the snow is gone and the conditions are pretty good. I am going over tomorrow to set the targets up and prepare for the event. I will be better able to answer your questions on Wed when I get home from the ranch.

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

Sorry if I missed it, but about what time do proceedings begin? Any estimate how long things will go on for? I imagine it will depend on how many participants there are, but . . .

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys.

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

Meet & greet 0900 - Shooters meeting 0930. I was out at the ranch Tues - Wed. The course is set, other than a few additional shooting solutions I will add Sat morning. Ground conditions are great at the moment.

I am slammed with several obligations presently, but I will do my level best to stay on top of this thread and PMS with questions that continue to arrive for this weekends event.

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

Thanks for the response.
I guess what I need to know is the shoot held both Sat and Sun, and does a person need to shoot both days?
Is there a time limit per stage?
Are the stages at KD, or does a shooter need a rangefider?
At this point in time, I plan to be there for Sat, weather permitting.
Neil

Re: Montana LR Event- Augustis Ranch

After talking to several shooters this morning after they checked the updated weather forcats for the area of the ranch, and they assured me the weather was going to break.

TRGR called in from Conrad this morning and said it was clear up there.

With that, we are going forward with the event this weekend by popular demand.

We will see the hard cores Saturday!

NNA
The next shooting event is planned for April 24th & 25th. May will be the second, or third week of that month, because I did not realize that the last weekend of May was Memorial Day weekend till last Sunday...
