Decided today was a good day to gather up my crew and spend some time on the range. I brought my Mosin Nagant, PSL and 3/4 spam can of ammo. The Nagant gave me no issues and shot like a champ,the PSL was well....another story. I fired 2 rounds and the mag fell out, slapped it back in and repeat. Eventually I got it settled in and realized after maybe 20 rnds that the entire scope mount had slid forward about 1/4". Has anyone ran into these issues before and what will it take to cure these problems?

And you expected what from a $300 rifle? We've gone through a number of these POS I mean PSL rifles in the FW class here at Gunsite. Solve the problem? Buy a better rifle, way cheaper and easier than fixing the PSL.

man tighten up the nut on the bottom of the scope mount b4 u lock down the lever on the scope. it sounds like u need to check where the mag locks in or new mag if yours keeps falling out. look at how it locks in its similar to an AK.

Lots of PSLs have out of spec rails. You're better off setting the clamp as tight as you can even if it means you can't remove it without tools. For the mag, check thar the release is fully engaged. You may need to tale a little metal off the mag. Did you try different magazines? I'm lucky if I get one out of three that's good.
We all know the PSL is. Pretty primitive rifle. But it is far cheaper than an SVD, about as accurate and is really cheap to shoot. It's a big bore plinker - nothing more.

If you use an SVD style scope clamp it will go all the way forward and hit a stop on the rail, if it's AK style it will hit the rear of the rail and stop there. Either way it is impossible for them to move forward if you put the scope on the right way.
The scope rail itself is riveted on so it's not moving either.
You probably didn't have the mag in properly, the front of it goes in at an angle and then you shove in the rear until it clicks.
Is this a TGI build or is it one that was imported from Romania? I have an imported one and it's great but the ones on the market now are mostly TGI builds and they are hit or miss at best...

I have a kit that I am going to have built by Gewehr Werks in OH. The ones built in Romania seem to be pretty solid. The ones built by CIA and TGI seem to be hit or miss.
When built properly, the PSL is a fine counter-sniper/guerrilla sniper rifle.

I have 2 SVD'sand 2 Romanian PSL's While the PSL's are not finished as well as the SVD's there is not much difference in accuracy between the 2 makes that I have noticed using 7N1 sniper ammo. MOA rifles they are not. 1.5-2 MOA is more like it with 7N1 ammo. I think they are quite a bit more than just a plinker. Cant say that for the Century or Tennessee builds. They have been problematic. I replaced the 4X PSOP scope on 1 of my PSL with an 8X Kalinka scope and it will shoot 1=1.5 MOA if I do my part and use 7N1 ammo/

I have 2 SVD'sand 2 Romanian PSL's While the PSL's are not finished as well as the SVD's there is not much difference in accuracy between the 2 makes that I have noticed using 7N1 sniper ammo. MOA rifles they are not. 1.5-2 MOA is more like it with 7N1 ammo. I think they are quite a bit more than just a plinker. Cant say that for the Century or Tennessee builds. They have been problematic. I ring 12" steel @ 600 pretty regularly with my PSL, ball ammo and the factory 4X scope. It's not a target rifle but it's still fun.
5$ says the OP didn't have the scope mounted properly, maybe not 100% forward on the rail.
