Most Accurate factory 50bmg on the market???

I want to buy a 50 bmg. The purpose of the rifle is to shoot as far as possible at steel targets and ocasionally hunt big game at extreme distances. I have a lot of expirence shooting long range but no expirence shooting a 50 bmg. Is it possible to buy or build a 50 that will shoot under 1 moa? I was looking at purchasing an accuracy international AX 50 but have not found any accuracy reviews? Is there any other rifles i should be looking at or am i wasting my time thinking i need a 50 for extreme long range work and stick with my 338s?

I think there is something being overlooked with your question, the 50 compared to the 338 family is like comparing a sledgehammer to a scalpel, the ballistic coefficient between these two platforms is almost double and even more in some cases. the inaccuracy of a 50 vs. the 338's is about as frustrating than having a red headed step child. and not the proper choice for game hunting at all. The intended purpose for the 50 is no more than a brute force chunk of metal getting accurate enough to hit a large (vehicle, armor, equipment etc,) with the force of a padlock sized projectile. it is far from a precision tool especially for big game. If the right tool for the right job is working fine for you, I wouldn't even bother with the 50. unless your big game consists of an elephant surrounded by a two thousand meters of landmines, snakes and lions to prevent you from getting closer.

Thanks that's exactly what I was trying to find out. I know a fifty throws a large bullet but can it do it accurately at extreme long range 2000 plus? I know some of the benchrest guys have shot some 2 and 3 inch 5 shot groups at 1000. With good brass and bullets would a 50 ever be able to keep up with a 338 at 2000 plus?

due to just the ballistic coefficient alone, the 50 will never shoot as well as the groups you can get with the 338's especially the further out you go. not to mention the hit your wallet will take trying to make the fiddy shoot like a 338. its like putting a garbage truck in a wind tunnel.

We have spent the past 2 years redesigning all of our actions and chassis systems. With the actions: more a matter of importing improved engineering techniques / values. Our 50cal is a dilemma. It is a huge piece of steel / aluminium. It shoots well because it is effectively a heavy rail gun. We have tried to make it look more inviting (we attend plenty of military trials, and at the opening day they all walk straight past it!) but after 30 rounds she (I think that she is a she!) proves her point, both in terms of outstanding accuracy and usability. Please also have a look at our Rolatube tripods. They are cool and represent a whole new area for us.
