Yeah I got that. After Covid, all the stores around here put limits on the amount of things you could buy. My point was, that the limits are all below our normal purchase amounts due to the size of my family, how much my boys can eat, and the fact we don’t go to town but once every couple of weeks.

Everything’s covered in 1/4” or more of ice; and it’s gonna get worse as the day goes by. Good times.

It’s nowhere near as bad as last year’s ‘Snowpocolypse’ of course, but with no real means or infrastructure to deal with inclement weather like this down here in the Tejas hill country, it’ll be sporty.

We’re all set though, and thank God today’s my ‘Saturday’ … off until Sunday when the weather should be much better. Just gonna hang out, catch up on some books, and netflix and chill.

I managed to stay somewhat warm today but it is hard on the cattle. They wanted to be in the woods so I hayed them in the woods. Plenty of hay and protein is about all I can do. Thank goodness my youngest calves are a week old now. Imagine being 104 degrees one second and hitting the soaking wet ground in 35 degree rain, a hell of a way to come into the world.

yup it's stew. I've had "chili" with beans that wasn't bad, but it's not chili.

Technically this I made isn't chili I used ground instead of stew meat and didn't roast/grind chilis, but I'm lazy and there's no stew meat at the store. I got the last two packs of ground.

Stop using the grocery store stew meat. It is over priced junk. Just buy a chuck roast and cut it up yourself. And btw, tri tip is better for making chili.

I asked my buddy what that was about, he said his squadron leads the wing in religious waivers. I asked what religion, and he said, CHRISTIAN!
I was blown away. But if it works for one, it better work for all. Couldn't believe it.
