Guy I got hired with got a call years ago. They were sent to a "traumatic injury". Ole boy working on the front end of his car, with it just on a jack. It came off and landed on his legs. It had him mashed to the garage floor, but not the whole weight of the car on him. He was just stuck. He was talking to the guys from the engine and ambulance, calm and embarrassed. My friend looked about 8 feet from the car, and saw two brand new jack stands, sitting on a shelf.
He said "what are you doing saving these? Don't want to wear them out?"

I wanted to do that, my buddy who was one told me he'd kill me if I did. Wanted to be a machinist too all the old guys told me every reason it was a bad idea.

I saw one in the wild yesterday. We had to turn the truck around. GF thought it was a pool cue after I call it out as a sword amd bet me dinner on it. Then she had a very disturbed look on her face, when I'm laughing. I convinced her to stop so I could ask where the basement dweller got it at. I was pretty sure it was an umbrella by then.

lol, you still missed the joke. I only have a smallish phone too, but can zoom in nonetheless. He has about for Jack stands, but not one was even close to supporting the car. It appears as the one closest to being useful is still at least 4 inches from touching anything.

There's a lot of questionable shit about this picture. That doesn't appear to be a RWD car, but the transmission seems to be oriented in a RWD direction. I can't tell the type of transmission even blowing up the picture, so this may be a non-issue.
The car's not on the jackstands, but if the floor jack (with a non-OSHA-approved 16" extension) is holding it up it SHOULD be leaning badly to the starboard side with the jack being way off-center towards the port side. So, what anti-gravitational magic is at work here?
