I think it was "Three Days of The Condor" (book, not movie) that mentions a hitman attaching the silencer to his Colt Python...just before he clicks off the safety. Now, I was aware of the Nagant, but I've handled and shot several (owned one) Python and never ran across one that was gas sealed. Maybe the .22LR version. I've never seen one of those, but know they exist.

I've never seen one with a manual safety, either.

Shirley Slade Was One Of More Than 1000 Women Who Had Been Solicited By The U.S. Government To Enter An Intensive Seven-Month Training Course That Would Make Them The First Female Pilots To Enter The Air Force

Severe pilot shortages of World War II led to the recruitment of women into the Air Force. By recruiting women, the Air Force could maintain delivery of aircraft, ferry supplies, and perform other non-combative functions that fueled the war efforts.

Collectively, the group would become known as WASPs: Women Airforce Service Pilots.

As the war wound down, men returning from combat took the WASPs' places as active-duty pilots.

Slade was trained to fly the B-26 and B-39.

One of the instructors at the school where I got my private pilots license was a Wasp who flew B17's to europe and other aircraft around the US. I did a stage check with her and was amazed at he knowledge and ability...I found out about her WWII flying just after that. Excellent pilot and they seldom get or got the credit they deserved.

People have been putting suppressors on revolvers since they were invented and still do to this day.

Disregard know it alls who don't know as much as they think they do. Like saying if you have a crack in your exhaust pipe, your car's muffler doesn't work AT ALL!
