They also said that most of the energy from that high amount of burst would be directed up into space, in a greatly scaled up version of the vacuum cone that results from conventional explosives being fired off from ground level, so the pole to pole shock wave, surprisingly, might be no more than the 50MT device that was tested, but with a catastrophic level of fallout.

That's when you set it to detonate at ground level so you get a nice big crater and a bit of an earthquake.
That's always long term impressive

I have a strong feeling that far future terraforming projects on exoplanets will have to involve the use of nukes. There are some planets out there that may be in the habitable zones of their stars but they may lack the amount of radioisotopes needed for diversity of life and DNA synthesis. Many might not believe it but a certain level of radiation is actually REQUIRED to have functioning cellular mechanisms and DNA/RNA production. Controlled mutations caused by this radiation help in evolution. For a long term terraforming project, nukes on the surface of a barren world will carve out lakes, river, and future agricultural plains AND seed the planet with just the right amount of radioisotopes so when it is finally safe for humans to land, crops can be planted, hydroponics set up, and a biosphere ready to be transplanted onto it's surface.

What was that all about? I’m still watching the donuts….

Those guys are having their own conversation. They think that they are impressing everyone with their vast knowledge, while the rest of us simply don’t give a shit. What they are discussing is NOT motivational to anyone but themselves. Not sure why people want to come on this thread and do stupid shit like that, but they insist.
Exit to add, the donuts girl looks a little like Beth Dutton, so look but don’t touch. You’d be likely to draw back a nub.

Conversation I had with my GF this very morning. Woke up while she was folding some clothes on her side of the bed.

Her: "Voting is less than 4 days away now".

Me: "Voting? You mean 2 part intelligence test. The voting is just the multiple choice part. The critical thinking essay portion is how those of us who gives a damn watches the polls to ensure that the multiple choice is graded properly. Two part test. Make sure to bring a No. 2 pencil and a blue or black pen"...

And to kill the natives.

True, assuming that she would be able to keep up a $100/hour pace for 24 hours a day for six days straight. $100/hour for 5 tricks per day, every day nets her the same $3000. I guess that only she (and AKmike) knows how many tricks can be consistently turned in a day. 😎😁🤷🏻‍♂️
