Milled some Bois d' arc and mesquite. There will be a mesquite rifle stock in two years once the 2.5" slab dries out on stickers. I've got a shady spot in the wind. Just gotta wait on it.

The Mesquite came from Runnels County, TX, and the Boos d' arc came from my place in Fannin County, TX.

And I need to find someone to inlet for the barreled action. I have done that one time on a manual mill. I do not remember the hours, but it was a bunch.

Whatcha gonna do with that horse apple tree? Nothing was covered in bright yellow when you finished? Like everything you put in the washing machine with those work clothes.

I love to use bodark, but it isn't "sunshine stable" - itll go brown then to purple over time. Still cool as hell though. Very tough.

And you can collect environmentally friendly targets right from the tree!

Thank you,

Funny verse from James McMurtry’s Choctaw Bingo.

Ruthann and Lynn they wear them
Cutoff britches
And them skinny little halters
And they're second cousins to me
Man, I don't care, I wanna
Get between 'em with a
Great big ol' hard-on like a old Bois d'Arc fence post
You could hang a pipe rail gate from
Do some sister twisters 'til the cows come home
And we'll be havin' us a time

Mesquite is some hard ass wood. Beautiful grain. Orbital sander with 80 grit just polishes it. Keep us updated.

I have thrown it into my cnc mills on more than a few occasions to make boards for furniture and other stuff. Seriously amazing wood, especially the standing dead trees that no longer have their bark. Hard as hell.

Looking at your photo that one wood looks like Osage Orange 🤪

But, if she does not flinch.... She is well on the way to singeing that long hair and getting a hot BB down her ear.....
Want a photo of her doing some overhead.
That sizzle of a hot BB down the ear is a sound I hope to not create anymore.....
I about beat myself to death trying to get out from under a trailer I was welding when it happened.

Oh yeah, the ear wax sizzle. Nothing like it. Never had it burn the hair out of my ear though, which would have been useful.
