She’s right. It shouldn’t be that our children have been taught to fear free people. Sickening really.

Old video of me 13yr old me with my 870 Express 20GA thinning out the blackbird population. The farm cats ate good.
I killed a lot of sparrows and pigeons in our pole barn with a Crossman 788 BB gun growing up, our farm cats ate good too...except for the pigeons I ate.

Edit add: What part of SoDak are you in? I grew up about 14 miles north of Kimball.

We were upgrading a CO2 compressor station. Some of the monitoring instruments were in a 20' square metal building, insulated, finished inside office like. Instead of taking it apart and rebuilding it 40' away we decided to have a mover come in , lift it and move it to the new floor slab. Got ready and gave him a call. He shows up in a '90 or so Dodge Cummins pulling two steel beams boomed onto a pair of truck axles and a flatbed full of timbers and blocks and stuff. No helpers.

And goes to work. By himself he slowly lifts the building with wood, hammers and wedges until he gets the two beams drug under it using the pickup. Then he assembles a 4 point lift thingy using hydraulic cylinders on each end of the beams, a pump and a pressure equalizing manifold. Gets it high enough, chains and cross chains the truck axles under the beams, hooks up to the pickup and pulls it to to the new slab. Then, essentially working backwards, sets it on the new slab precisely on the preset anchor bolts.

One man, smooth as silk, no drama, two shifts.

He packs up, I'm saying thanks and good bye. The owners rep walks over, signs the ticket and thanks him for a great job. Then the rep asked how he got into the house moving business. He looks up and says "I'd have to give the credit to my ex-wife". "Your ex-wife? Did she give you the money to start or what? "Nope. After moving her fat ass around the country I figured I could move anything". And he drove off.

Thank you,
MrSmith

Between Huron and Wolsey. Was a Warbird.

First ever kills was a pair of pigeons in our barn. The tornado that took out Manchester also took out our barn.
