about 10 years ago my friend worked as a tech/mechanic at the local Toyota dealer.

They had a leader board of Prius customers who averaged the highest mileage between services.

Apparently it was a little competition to do with Prius’ owners.

Some people were averaging 50+ mpg.

Short commutes and such.

1. My longest non stop flight was from Coronado to Manama Bahrain.
2. While working in the bay there, one night there was a terrible storm. We had to get from the mouth of the bay, to the dock, about 6 miles away. You couldn’t see land, you could only see the next buoy light, but only when you were at the top of a swell. 3am, blinding rain, and we took a 14’ wave over the bow of a 22’ Boston Whaler. The Whaler had a diver door cutout (a 6’ section of side wall on the boat is removed) so when the wave broke over us and knocked us all down, the water was going out the side door and trying to take us with it. There were three of us in the boat, and everybody was grabbing everybody else and trying to hang on so nobody went out of the boat. We got up, and got her going and made it into the dock. It was odd, me and one of the guys pretty much hated each other’s guts, but after that night, we got along ok.

Hey, don't let the haters tell you there's anything wrong with that.

Just back and forth runs to blow each other?

I give this guy props if he can stick with it. I hired a production line guy who had a record. He already had converted a covered utility trailer into a make shift hot dog stand. I thought he was industrious for wanting a 9-5 and a side hustle on the evenings and weekends. Until I found out that he was only booking the hot dog stand one day a month and he disappeared on a three day drug bender after only working for me for three weeks.

11' can mean a lot of different things. 35' seas is fishable if your mindful as long as the period is long enough. Otherwise 15' can kick you ass in a 130' when their steep. I have a 23' play boat and generally the rule is the beam in feet and seconds is ok. So in my instance ant larger then 9' and shorter then 9sec is a no go.
Exactly. I fish offshore regularly. My boat is 31'. Any sea period less tha 3x the wave height is very sporty. People misjudge waves all the time....and no shame in that, seas always look bigger than they really are and the wave buoy always tells the truth. Waves are measured from the midline or the sea state with no waves, not the base of the trough. True 11' seas are 22' wave faces. Unless they are roller coaster 11' seas with a huge period like every 15 or 20 seconds that we see before after hurricanes no 23' boat is surviving 11' seas. I don't go and expect to fish comfortable in any sea bigger than 3-4' less than 9 second period and my boat that is 31x10.5'. Of course everywhere is a little different and E. coast is typically chop and any sea NNE to SSE wind is worse with swell and wind chop on top.
