You should get the 3.5 Ecoboost instead of the 5.slow.

5.slow... you mean the same engine that propels a stock 2018 Mustang GT into the 11's in the quarter mile.
A coworker has a 2014 F150 with a 5.0, and it keeps up with his brother in laws' 2017 3.5L Ecoboost F150 pretty well. One car length in the quarter. His truck is also 700 lbs heavier the the newer one. Both trucks are as they left the factory.
And here as an old timer, I remember the saying, “There’s no replacement for displacement”. Times and equipment change I guess.
Every time you post a pic in the view thread with that 200k plus odometer I wonder how much longer you got until becoming a member of the Found On Road Dead club.
You going to get it with the "Eco-thingie" package?
Cheers,
Sirhr
Eh..if referring to trucks i don't see a single trophy truck running a turbo'd v6. Granted different applications but still. I guess really i just take issue with them cramming the ecoboost down our throats with the raptor. Completely understand at altitude where forced induction is very very useful. Don't understand putting it in 5800lb semi racing truck. Noone buying a raptor to put 35s or 37s on it is worried about gas mileage and if they are they're a moron.
That trucks so gay, it’s leaking tranny fluid.
The 5.0 will not keep up at altitude. Also 5.0 rated to tow 1700 lbs less than 3.5 ecoboost. Not slamming the 5.0 as i told him that would be my 2nd choice. But the ecoboost claim to fame is an amazingly flat torque curve. And power rating not adjusted for altitude until 12,000ft. At which point a NA engine is down 36% on power while ecoboost is down 1%.
Ecoboost torque is +400 lbs from 1500rpm to 6000 rpm. That is an amazing rpm range. 2015+ ecoboost shares 85% of the parts of the 650hp ecoboost in the GT supercar.
