Yes, I know that. Did you read the statement that Trump published? If so, did you read and comprehend the bit that says:Some basic civics. The legislative branch creates departments, funds them and defines the duties of the officers.
"... the Department of Government Efficiency will provide advice and guidance from outside of government, and will partner with the Whitehouse and OMB to drive large scale structural reform ..."
It's OMB that will yield the knife, because DOGE is not an actual government entity. At least the way I read it.
So, your statement, while factually correct, is entirely a non-sequitur because DOGE is not actually a government department, but an advisory group named in honor of a meme.
So, Downtown, I pose a couple of questions:
- Did you still think, despite my post, that this is a real government department, and hence graphically illustrate my closing point?
- Did you feel you wanted to somehow illustrate my lack of civics knowledge, by entirely missing the point of my initial post post. (See 1 above)
- Did you just feel like posting a non-sequitur to join in? If so, cool! Civics is fun!
So as a closing question that is open to everybody, and looking at the statement the same way a liberal reads the 2nd amendment and the role of the people, does "outside the government" really mean inside the executive branch and funded with federal dollars and very much inside the government? I'm all ears!
