I don’t even know exactly what’s happening in this picture, but it looks dangerous as hell and I find it amusing that the person responsible for this hack job paused before he died and took a picture of his “ingenuity.“
I guess a minor +1 for him because it looks like he actually used jackstands versus just relying on a jack to support the vehicle.
Either someone was really pissed ... or practicing with a 9mm.
All he might accomplish is to pull the rollers and the cage apart from the race
My only question is, did it work? It would have for sure if he used a chain instead of a strap on. I think he just pulled his pud on this job though.
Sadly, I never got to make and race one myself, but I helped my Dad run a couple of these races in Poughkeepsie, New York back in the early ‘70s.
