i believe the historic margin of error stated by the census bureau is 10%...90% confidence level in general, if my brain hasnt messed up the numbers from poli-sci in college
that article furthers the impossibility of 75% of the NY population is illegal as suggested

The only thing states try and get right is the amount of people, so they can get more money and aid from the federal govt.
I doubt any state would let “X”million people not get counted especially when they are giving them aid/housing etc.
…that being said…there are too many and they should be removed along with their offspring.

i didnt comment on who and why the numbers may or not be correct
i debated the point of 75% of the NY state population is illegal
to go toward what your saying,
states that are equated with large numbers of illegals are supposedly stretching the census info...furthering their federal aid and representation.. most likely 100% truth.
if you go back to other census there are usually several states on both sides that inflate population by 2-4%, intentional or not
in 2010 the Census changed the way it counts immigrants, which lowered their numbers in general
i forget how but it was a big topic on the news
now, the dem heavy states are still giving out aid, medical etc so their illegal friendly decisions are actually biting them in the ass as the last census did not count that segment of the population
additionally those states like NY know exactly how many and who the aid is going to..they may not care and are screwing up the state
but they know how many licenses, clinic visits, accidents, police reports etc are being paid for
my gut says NY and other immigrant heavy states are pumping up those census numbers knowing there are X percent of immigrants not being counted via the actual Census but are actually living in the state.. which would actually give them a smaller representation
although that representation is not legal in my eyes because that percent is illegal and should not count or be in the country to start with
