I picked up a No. 1 in 22-250 several years back. Had some surface rust, but seemed otherwise fine. It cleaned up nice. I dropped it off yesterday at the gunsmith to have a picatinny rail made for it and ordered a Jard trigger that I will have him install as well. I gave $400 or $450 for the rifle. The wood on mine is not nearly as nice as yours though. Just need to make a decision on the scope. View attachment 7925782

Very nice. This one is made in 1977 and minty. Has a Japan Tasco 6-24x40 in factory rings on it and it'll probably stay that way. This is the first No.1 that I've had. Still haven't gotten to shoot it yet.

My experience with these, and I’ve owned a few, either they shoot right out of the box or they never will no matter what you do…….

I agree, I've got a stainless, laminate #1 7 STW that's a solid 3/4 MOA rifle.

I do too, shoots great but man it KICKS…
I won it at a Buckmasters dinner in 2002.
I have 40.00 in it….
