I got a chance to go threw the Shelby cobra museum in Martinez ca and they had the frame in the rough. Between the frame and the dash gave it away for me. If anyone gets the chance to go threw the Shelby museum it is the ultimate Carrol Shelby history, ‘’ Lightning in a bottle indeed ‘’
Anyone who followed sports car racing in the 60s liked what what they did to Ferrari at lemans. I planned to get a job as soon as I was out of high school just to get enough money to buy a cobra, except he stopped making them. One of the reasons I’m building a replica today.

I work for the same company those guys worked for. Actually met one of them on the golf course one morning several years ago.
That whole story and shit is in new hire orientation. They were in the michael douglas show back in the day.

Spring little Cobra!

Say what you will about him... the man was, among many other things, a comedic genius. One of my favorite classic routines. It's funny. When I was growing up, I was allowed (if you can believe that) to walk up from where I was living to a small local shop area about 1/4 mile away and up a hill. A small "Acme" grocery store was there, but the local barber shop was there, their version of a "Dairy Queen" was there as well as the proverbial local "Sweet shop" and Soda fountain. There was also a small hardware store on the corner. On the side of that street corner there was, usually parked, a classic Shelby Mustang GT350 in Blue and Silver. I think it belonged to one of the hardware store employees who would park there every day while at work. I used to marvel at that car (hey, I was a 9 y/o kid). Listening to Cosby's above routine only piqued my interest in the car.

It's a freaking shame Cosby is considered a pariah, now. But I have to wonder how many more like him are still walking around amoung us, still cloaked and undiscovered.
