I was a "Johnny Eagle" kid, m'self....
In my case, the "Magumba," It actually expelled real plastic projectiles (spring loaded, of course). As did the pistol (which came with the rifle). So realistic, that my Uncle required I store/keep it "action open" unless I was aiming at something. And I couldn't do so in the house.
Say what you will, I could use that a few times in my life.
Don't care much for Michael Douglas, but that's a helluva movie.
How many folks today do you reckon can identify with that storyline?
Loved this scene on Happy Days when Officer Kirk tried to Run Fonzie out of town.
He just wanted something to eat at Mels.

I had one of those and had forgotten about it until I saw this post! Mine was the bolt action safari rifle which hung on a plastic elephant tusk rack. Don't really remember having a pistol with it though. Thanks for the memories, such as they are.
