Because she has to reach over the open dryer door to transfer wet clothes from the washer to the dryer.

That’s the purpose of the reversible door - so you can adjust it based on whether the washer is on the right or the left.
Just to watch your anal retentive ass go to the web (and PDF) hell, how do you know that the Amana unit she has actually has the "optional" reversible hinges?

Some of us have spent our lives consuming useful knowledge instead of downloading nude pictures and reposting them every few weeks. The vast majority of SniperHide members are mechanically inclined individuals who know that virtually all front loading dryer doors are reversible. Especially old-school dryers like that one.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were also unaware that refrigerator and upright freezer doors are reversible as well.

Am I the only one here who can’t stand that Steve Inman dude?

What an obnoxious idiot!

I often watch the videos posted without sound.

Mainly because of the obnoxious noises like the loud "TOK!" that sounds like a hammer hitting a wooden block. But the added benefit is I don't have to hear him either.

But I do get a giggle from morons pounding each other senseless.

You should start a poll on the reversing the dryer door statement you made.

I bet the only way you knew was that you googled it enable to do it for yourself. your wife. Hmm, I'll have to have you come reverse my doors on my French door refrigerator.

Just so you know, until recently, Amana dryer doors were NOT reversible, then It became an option, (Whirlpool make 4 Amana dryers total)) Current models, it's standard.

Now get back to googling your next project, replacing the thermocouple on your electric water heater.

I am going to go to our makerspace and teach someone how to program our CNC router table. Cause I'm not mechanically inclined.

Front load washer is the second biggest mistake I've made in 34 years of marriage.

I got married 34 years ago. That's still number 1
Right on brother. I got so goddamn fed up with maintaining our bought-new POS front loader that I went out and bought a Speed Queen TC5 (just like grandma’s, or errr, my mom’s. I’m older).

This is their only “old-style” model that I’m aware of. Their other models incorporate other stuff, of which I want no part of lol.

The front loader had constant mildew issues, was supposed to be drained each month, the door left open to dry, and the vagina-like seal religiously cleaned. JESUS CHRIST!!!

The Speed Queen TC5 is a top-loader, uses a ton of water, takes only 30min for a cycle, no lid lock, and call the company and they’ll tell you how to set the dials so it works like the old ones.

The govt made them make a “regular” setting that conserves water. Upshot is it barely does anything. Call them and they’ll set you straight.

The Speed Queen TC5. ZERO MAINTENANCE. LIKE THE LORD INTENDED! 😂

Oh Noze! Someone posts something on the internet I don't like! I must find me some support for my position by posting on the internet and sounding like an obnoxious idiot!

Yup. And even today's modern "Top Loaders" are designed to "save water" Just like dishwashers. They aren't dishwashers... they're dishrinsers, these days.

I really wish the "Hobart" corporation still made the Kitchen Aid "Superba" Vari-cycle dishwasther. My childhood household had one. Fantastic machine. It really did clearn dishes and you could load them with some dirt on them. You can't now. Yeah, it did use a bunch of water, but that's not the job of one of those clothes/dish washers. The Job is to get your clothes/dishes clear!

Until now, I have always had Whirlpool's commercial heavy duty washers. (non vend) not the biggest capacity but never had one break. All of them were pulled from upscale condos that had washer dryers in them, so they were never used. Family wasi n real estate management.
Now I have a top load HE washer with no agitator and even though it cleans better, (it really does) it doesn't require maintenance. BUT, like modern furnaces, I hate the electronics. Replace a board here, replace a board there....and it tells you what you can and cannot do on settings.

I'm not sure what happened with your washers but the last set of front load washer and Dryer I had lasted about 15 years and I never really had any problems with the washer.

My new set is a couple years old and works just fine.

Minimal maintenance apart from cleaning out a couple pounds of dog hair from the filters once.

I dunno man. Do an internet search and you’ll find scads of suckers like me and my wife. I’m thinking there’s some fucking OEM that sold a shitty front-load design to a bunch of “manufacturers”.

I was like, “Yeah, they use front loaders in laundromats so they’ve gotta be the best.” I took a close look at those industrial things…waaay different than my POS.

You maybe bought a style that was different than mine. Consider yourself blessed from upon high.

IMHO there was never anything wrong with the old manual knob & switches top loaders. Yeah, they used more water but I don’t need more hasselhoff in my life.
