Not so sure about that. Me and millions of people somehow survived uninjured driving without 20 airbags. Now you get into a 20 mph crash and you get 20 fucking airbags exploding at 170 decibels causing all manner of injury that you otherwise would not have. I'll happily take my chances with just a seat belt and real bumpers.
Rule #1 for researches: Tell the people funding your research what they want to hear. Especially if it's impossible to disprove.
