I posted the above before but kept digging and found the rest of the ‘Merry Men’…

Years ago this represented the high water mark of what I accomplished in life, today I have to dig through the basement to find them and remind myself that my memory is still in tact.

A whole bunch of junk now taking up space but between the sabers, stetsons, combat knots, Combat Action Badge, and Gold & Silver Spurs … they used to mean something.

Years later- they’re now just token trinkets as a reminder of a man I no longer am that did things in a world that no longer exists.

The soldier on the cover died saving others evacuating World Trade Tower on Sept 11

My Confederate Grandson shot the M1-A in a match for the first time. As he was snaping in I asked if he was tight enough. He said " Yeah, I'm good". I knew he wasn't but learning by doing is sometimes better. He found out 5.56 tight and 7.62 tight are different.
I learned that lesson on a 45-70, 16" carbine, with a steel butt plate. Cousin thought it was funny
