Reminds me of the airfield pranks we used to play on the newbies. We'd send them off for extra flight line and/or prop wash.

As a newbie SN on an SSN in the yard, I was assigned to help and run errands for a MM2 who was rebuilding a pump (I was one of the few on the boat who had a Navy drivers license.) He sent me to the pump shop for a can of relative bearing grease, They sent me to the compressor shop, and they sent me to the turbine shop. From there I went to the EM club, where the MM2 later bought me drinks all night.

When I first started at the PD, our detective sent me to the police supply store to buy a set of extra-small handcuffs.

Which I knew damn well did not exist.

However in my miniatures collection, I have a pair of David Kucer miniature cuffs!

Guess who won that round? Never got $#@*ed with again!

Cheers,
