Funny but it's actually a very dangerous misconception.
They are busy trying to get the politicians to send "The King's Men" who will be "Just following orders" to show up at your place with a whole bunch of their buddies in SS gear that you have paid your tax dollars to equip them with. And we have yet to see any of the "Just doing their duty" types decide to refuse to violate the constitution when ordered to do so.
So sure make fun of the wierdos and creeps at your own peril, they never had any plans to come after your guns themselves. They always planned to make the ones that are supposed to be your protectors turn on you.
Go look for the faces of those behind them that are using them as their little useful idiot puppets... and watch your back when you do so.
And then they will be shocked when the "just following orders" come after their first amendment rights.
