I was lucky enough to get some flights in a two seat Mustang down here in Australia in 1976. I was in the Australian Air Force at a unit called Aircraft Research and Development. All I had to do was cancel and rebook my return flight, extend the hotel, get another week off work, have the wife do another week of farm and house chores and pay $2000. Tough decision, the phone was in hand and the credit card out more than once.

Didn't do it, still sad.
