I may be the grumpy fucker here, but this is the one place on the internet that isn't saturated with politics. While I fully realize a significant number of current events are going to bleed over into this thread, do we have to endure cut/pastes of political cartoons?
Feel free to shout my arse down if I'm out of line.

It is true that political messages SHOULD have their own thread and the other treads be left along. As you mention, today's time are unique and troublesome. I personally think some of the cartoons are more impactful than just reading some words in a post. YMMV and we're all in this together. The in fighting about minor differences should stop and all of our efforts need to be directed at the enemy.

It is in the rules that this spot is supposed to be politics free but it seems that people just don't care. I keep posting reminders to post motivational pics only and stop the jibber jabber and politics but oh well. So I'll follow the rules and along with my rant I will post this-

My son is an Eagle with dual gold palms, Vigil OA and one of less than 1100 Scouts to ever receive the Hornady Medal. He completely distance himself from scouting after they gave in and started letting in girls and gays. This is a gunsmith friend of mine working his night job in the Shenandoah Valley on his family farm. Some times I give him a hard time about how long it takes to get him to finish a gun for me (mostly in fun). Then a picture like this gets posted to my Facebook timeline.

I loved skirmishing I was lucky enough to shoot with a great bunch of people. It seems membership is down in the organization and its been dropping for a while. That’s a shame. I guess it just doesn’t hold younger shooters interest like others shooting venues.My official N-SSA days were roughly 10 months as an unassigned, when I was working and living in the deep south region, then a group of local living history reenactors and gun guys that I fell in with decided to form our own unit, the Frontier Organization of the Texas State Guard. I was with them for over a year until my father's first cancer diagnosis made me head back to New York. The other members are with different units now. From then, I mainly shot in more local events hosted by various shooting clubs up and down the coast while also working on gunsmithing projects. Been thinking about getting fully back into the skirmishing world and from what I have heard from those who I kept in contact with, COVID has dealt the Civil War reenacting/skirmishing scene a blow to the jaw this year, and while the sport is going to survive, it is seeing decreased membership. And on top of all this, now we are dealing with Confederate monuments and landmarks being destroyed.
Was just "joking" with one of my buddies from that time that the NEXT skirmish we take part in is going to be real... And it is not going to be "brother versus brother", as the War Between the States had been... I don't consider ANTIFA/DSA even human...
