Although it is a nice collection, I would have preferred you use a different "table cloth".
I often use burlap (think sandbags) and then place The Flag on the wall behind the display - in a place of prominence, where it should be.

I had the same thought at first when I shamelessly stole the image, but if you look closely the flag is resting on a green wool blanket and not directly on grass; sure you could have some contamination from oil or dirt on the rifle or equipment. At any rate, thank you for caring for our flag, and be sure to raise awareness to all of the scantily clad THOTs wearing flag bikinis on the previous 1902 pages, if a well maintained iconic American rifle could taint our flag, I shudder to think what a real taint could do...
ETA: I should have stated iconic German influenced American rifle lest the PC Pickelhaube brigade shows up to point out inaccuracies.
It's an old native American Indian stretching exercise called pickahole.
Kind of like back like 200 years ago in America there were laws that you could only feed your slaves lobster a couple times a week because more often than that would be cruel and inhuman......
But I miss those few seconds where you're crankin it, using a pump oil gun filled with gasoline squirting it down the throat trying to get it to hit. Once it fired then there were those few seconds hoping the oil pressure came up even though you primed it, then spending a few minutes dinking with the timing, bouncing around making sure there were no leaks (oil, water, gas) then shutting it down.
Ah to be a kid again.

My observation on the photo is not what The Flag might be resting on . . . it is that something (anything) is resting on The Flag - hence my comment about the "table cloth".
Concerning your comment about the "flag bikinis" on the previous pages. I did not see any bikinis that were a Flag. Red and white stripes, blue fields, and white stars do not make The Flag. This site - US Flag information very specifically describes the US Flag with relationship to the number of stars, size of the field, and ratio of height to width. I have never seen a bikini that meets any of the requirements to be considered a US Flag. I do get a little concerned when I see the Olympic medal winners wearing The Flag like some kind of Superman cape . . . and I would gladly call them on that, if I could figure out how to do it.
I must confess our American Legion post used to have blue table covers with small (2" x 3"?) Flags printed all over them in a random pattern. I refused to use these table covers and removed them from our "inventory".
I really get animated when I see paper napkins with the US Flag printed on them. Really? You are expected to wipe your face on and throw in the trash the US Flag?
My wife used to be a teacher. When I noticed (immediately on entering) the US Flag was not properly displayed in the gym - wrong side of the state flag and "backwards" (field in the top right), I told her about it and she informed the school administration. The next time I went into the gym I noticed the holes in the wall where they had changed the flags around and properly displayed them. I asked her to thank the staff.
Most recently I notified the downtown radio station their two US Flags posted in the window - displayed for Independence Day were "backwards". It took them a couple of days, but they did change them . . . and as of today they are still proudly and properly displayed.
I hope I am not sounding "holier than thou". I am just trying to educate folks on the proper way to treat and display our national symbol - kind of the opposite of those folks that prefer to burn it in the middle of the street during a riot.
